This cartoon steps into theology, which really isn't this site's strong point. However, from what I understand about Christianity is this. God did not change any "rule", since the Old Testament if you sinned you would have to make a sacrifice of some kind of animal depending on the sin. This was the religion of the Jews/Israelites, while all the gentiles went to...yeah. God wanted to give salvation for all the people of the world, so he sent Jesus. Jesus then became the ultimate sacrifice. The "rule" did not change, a blood sacrifice was needed for atonement of sins. Note to Christian above.
